Why subscribe?
Many have told me that I am leading an inspiring life and that I need to put it out there for more to see, so that they can be inspired too. Honestly, the life I have been living for the last 12 years, I owe to my husband. He has afforded me many experiences, and supported me in every single venture. He is understanding, and amazing, as long as he has had his coffee! 😂
Recently, back in August 2021, we were planning a vacation to the Caribbean, to St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands for May 2022. When suddenly, we decided, why not just move there? It wasn’t as simple as it seemed tho, we did have a 20 acre farm that had chickens, ducks, geese, quail, donkeys, rabbits, koi fish, and even a handful of honey bee hives! So, we had to figure all that out, but we did, less than 4 months later, we put the property up for sale, accepted an offer, bought plane tickets, got rid of 95% of our belongings, found home for all the farm animals, prepared the cat (Benjamin) the best we could for travel, and in the beginning of December, we landed on the small and gorgeous island of St. Croix.
You know when you move, or start something fresh, you kind of get to reinvent yourself in the way that you sort of lost in your previous venture? Well, for me that is getting back into and making art a priority in my life. Along with learning about life here on the island, I am sharing with you my art, and things that I know about art. I am mostly self taught, aside from some high school and community college classes, and I am pretty unconventional in my learning and ways. Sometimes I get scoffed at by people who really know what they’re doing, but what I do works for me, and maybe it will work for you too!
It’s an exciting new world here in the Caribbean where I am trying to make new friends, learn a new culture and way of life where things really aren’t as easy to find as you would think, even Amazon doesn’t like to ship things here sometimes.
